Happy Saturday!

MY NAME IS LINDSEY.
I am an energetic and passionate designer who always loves a challenge. My hope is to leave a positive mark on the world through my design, my life, and the people around me. In my spare time, I shrug off my blonde moments by running long distances to places with no purpose. I have tall ambitions and a big heart and smile to match.
Let's get in touch.

Lin Manuel Miranda

website design

To reflect the personality and style of Lin Manuel, I chose to create a notebook style that included snippets of ideas and sketches that have a handwritten and hand-drawn feeling. In order to achieve this style, the fonts chosen include a quick handwritten style and another with a stencil look. The pairing of these fonts with the hand-drawn elements emphasizes the notebook feel. When coding the objects, animations make it appear as though Miranda's ideas are coming to life.

Topsy Turvy Toys

seasonal retail

Topsy Turvy Toys is a small toy store in New Bremen, Ohio that has unique environment for mothers and children. The theme of "Let Them Be Little" was chosen as a way to appeal to both. The pairing of this phrase with bright primary colors, simple shapes and patterns, and childlike graphics invokes the ideas of play and whimsy.

The Flavor Explorer App allows users to explore cooking and new recipes based upon flavor preferences and flavor affiliates. This app gives users a new way to truly create the next adventure for their taste buds. The modern, clean style of the app creates an upscale feel that pairs well with the culinary experience, and focuses on the food.

Robert Hart

responsive website design

Robert Hart is a woodworker who specializes in crafting wooden bowls on a lathe. Being exact on measurements is important to his work because the angles can greatly affect the outcome of the design. The style of the website was inspired by the grid and precise measurements that he uses when building and crafting his pieces.

Queen Keeper

package design

Queen Keeper is a promoter of planting flowers to help save bees since bees are responsible for one-third of our food source as pollinators. I created a mailing item that provokes a warm organic crafted feel; it holds seeds to be planted and a poster to help raise awareness. The colors and the style of the illustrations help promote the cause to protect and save the bees.

SPACEMAN BEER SERIES

craft beer label

For the craft brew Spaceman, I drew inspiration from the mission patches astronauts receive. Each element, including the fonts on the label, was chosen to evoke the idea of space travel and the space age. The color scheme for the patch design was chosen to emphasize the deep blue of space while creating an eye-popping piece for the label of the bottle. The text was designed to have a wave at the top to give it the same feel as objects floating in zero gravity. This label fits with the name and tells a story about the craft brew Spaceman.

Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park

destination website

National Parks emphasize the natural beauty of the environment. For Hawai'i Volcano National Park, I wanted to draw attention toward the photography of the beautiful landscapes created by the volcano. I chose the dark theme to relate to the feel of the rocky terrain, and I paired it with Polynesian patterns as a reference to the local traditional Hawaiian culture. The warm orange color allows for contrast to the darkness of the site but also works as an accent to the warm glow and color of the lava included in the photography.
